Hiring The Right Front Desk Help Can Be Hugely Beneficial
We recently focused on the need to hire someone to work the front desk in the evening and the best way to solve this hiring challenge for one my coaching students. I recruited my mentor Dion for his input and I wanted to share the results with you. The benefit of having the right well trained person
in the right place and at the right time can be a huge asset to the success of your martial arts school.
Keep in mind that we are looking for someone with Organizational Skills and Sales Experience.
Here are four ideas on hiring someone for the front desk:
1. If you can use someone longer term and you are willing to pay a little more per hour
a local temporary employment agency is a good place to get someone experienced. And if they don’t
work out you can get a replacement relatively quickly. Your staff training time is relatively minimal.
2. If you are willing and able to train someone for a project or to work the front desk and it is more
short term you can go to a local college and seek an intern from their business program students.
3. You can tap into your database of those who were unconverted leads that had expressed interest in your
school and include those that are active too and send an email blast outlining what you are needing and offering
a trade for lessons.
4. There is always Craig’s list or the paper for a well placed ad for help. It is a good idea to build in some filters
and narrow the generally large response you could get.
Remember that having a well trained employee can have a huge positive impact on your business.
