Uncovering Untapped Sales With Monthly Promotions

g money or getting a great deal, right? Who doesn’t?
Your students aren’t any different, they love getting great deals too! So give them a great deal and help your bottom line by offering monthly specials on merchandise.
These monthly deals should not be on any required merchandise you may have for Black Belt Club, Master’s Club, etc. Monthly deals should be to boost your revenue on items students might not ordinarily buy from you.
Items that you can include are: shoes, clothing, kicking shields, wavemasters, belt displays, DVDs, rebreakable boards, etc.
Once you have decided on what you’re going to offer, place that item in a place of prominence in your retail area or someplace else that will gain attention. Highlight how much of a savings students will be getting with their purchase, i.e. 15%, 20%, Buy one-get one free, buy one-get one half-off. And, of course, make sure there is a deadline to make that purchase!
Announce the monthly special by e-mail, voicemail blast, in your monthly newsletter and in class.
Here are some ideas to help get you started:
- 15% off Heavyweight Gi
- 20% off Wavemaster or Heavy bag
- 10% off martial arts shoes
- After a belt promotion, offer a belt display rack at a discount

- Wavemaster and instructional DVD.
- Gear bag, T-shirt and Gi
- MMA-Training shorts, shirt and hat
- MMA-Sweatshirt and 2 t-shirts

Be creative in your monthly specials and in their promotion in order to generate maximum interest. You will soon discover that by effectively implementing this strategy you will be selling more items that you normally wouldn’t have sold.
